Andrew is the Co-Founder of StartX Med, the Medical Accelerator of Stanford University and Stanford Hospital, where he has supported over 500 medical companies in the biotech, med device, and digital health/AI spaces with 80+ FDA approvals, $10B+ in cumulative funding, and 5 IPOs since 2012. Andrew is a Top 100 Y Combinator company founder, where he co-founded Clipboard Health – the fastest growing healthcare staffing startup in the US, most recently values by Sequoia Capital at $1.3B. As a MD/PhD physician and clinical pathologist trained at Stanford Hospital, Andrew has published over 50 peer reviewed research manuscripts on the use of medical technologies in personalized medicine.
Salman Hashim, MD, MSc

Salman’s interest in novel technologies coupled with his clinical and research experience that spans over three continents, provides a unique approach in the assessment of med-tech startups. Salman completed a Master of Science in clinical research at the University of Toronto in 2020. Prior to that, he trained at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin after graduating from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.
David Naylor, MD, DPhil

David is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto where he was formerly President, Dean of Medicine, and founding CEO of the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. Co-author of over 300 scholarly publications, Naylor has been an advisor to governments, institutions, and enterprises in Canada and abroad for more than 30 years. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and an international member of the US Academy of Medicine.
Ilse Treurnicht, DPhil

Ilse Treurnicht is currently Managing Partner of TwinRiver Capital, a Toronto/Boston impact investing firm. Her experience spans research and commercialization, building health and cleantech firms, venture and impact capital and public policy. She was the founding CEO of a major innovation district. Paul Kudlow, MD, PhD

Paul co-founded TrendMD, the largest native advertising network for academic research. He grew company to profitability and 80+ employees, then exited in 2019. He is currently a Staff Psychiatrist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada. Paul earned his PhD for research that has advanced the fields of bibliometrics, knowledge dissemination, and scholarly communication from the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto. He has authored over 25 peer-reviewed papers, as well as book chapters spanning multiple disciplines.
